American Bulldog / Mixed (short coat) Dog

Angel the Dog needs a home

Angel is a sweet, affectionate dog who loves people and is so happy when she greets you. She may be an older pup, but you’d never know that from her energy level. She acts like a much younger dog who is raring to go, and has tons of love to give. She’s living in an unfortunate situation right now, and really needs someone to step up for her and give her the life she deserves.

Angel has spent much of the last 6 years of her life crated. She lived the first 2 years of life coexisting well with another small dog in her family, but she lost her home and was adopted by a family with small dogs and the owner keeps them separated. Angel had some initial reactivity to another dog in her home, and has since been confined to a crate and mostly separated from the family. Angel’s mom loves her, but has been unable to give her the time, affection, and daily exercise this active dog needs. Angel is starved for attention and wants to have more engagement with people. When we met her to do her photo shoot, we took her out for the first walk she’s had in years and you could just see the joy on her face.

2/10/16 - Angel had her first vet visit today in years and did great. She was excited when we first arrived, but had plenty of kisses for everyone she met. She had blood drawn, was brought up to date on her shots, and had her nails done too. She was the perfect patient.

2/13/16 - Angel is heading to her new foster home tomorrow, and finally has the opportunity to have a better life. Senior dogs like Angel make excellent companions; they are confident in their skin, grateful for a loving and safe home, and are happy to go for a walk or lounge on the sofa next to you. At shelters, seniors are the least likely to be adopted and the first to be euthanized. Fostering or adopting a senior dog is your opportunity to be a hero and get a wonderful companion in return.

Angel goes to her new foster home -

4/9/16 - Angel has settled into her foster home, and now has people who love her and treat her like family. She shares a warm bed every night with her teenage brother, and gets regular daily walks and playtime. She’s crate and potty trained and has wonderful house manners. She can be reactive to other dogs on leash, and her foster mom is working to address this behavior. We feel an active, only dog home would best suit Angel right now, and a fenced yard will be ideal.

11/15/16 - Angel went on a long road trip with her foster family and did great meeting new people, and adjusting to all new environments. She'll make a great companion and side kick for some lucky owner. She remains a very active pup who needs her daily walks and playtime, and really is a joyous, loving dog.

Angel is a vibrant, active and loving senior pup who will make someone an awesome companion. Seniors are often overlooked, but the most grateful for a loving home and family. Angel deserves a great home to live our her golden years.
